Vincent Castillon – Primal Physiotherapist
Introducing Vince:
Hello there! I’m Vince, a physiotherapist here at Primal. I hold a Master of Physiotherapy degree from Swinburne University of Technology after completing my Bachelor of Science program at Monash University, majoring in Physiology and Developmental Biology which gave me the foundational knowledge of the human body’s inner workings and its anatomy.
My childhood was filled with sports for as long I’ve known it. Growing up overseas, I was exposed to multiple sports such as basketball and volleyball in different levels, even competing in athletics at a competitive level, this has not changed when I have moved to Melbourne. Beyond sports, I do enjoy a variety of activities in my free time. You can find me working out in the gym, sending climbs (or not) at your local indoor climbing gyms, enjoying video games, traveling and exploring what the world has to offer! (Mainly food and the scenic views of nature!) Otherwise, feel free to talk to me about anything and everything as to feed my curiosity!
So why did I become a physio? The short and easy answer is I want to give power back into people’s hands; to give them control over what they want to do in life. Life as we know it is fleeting, and what better way to enjoy it is to spend it knowing we have full control of its direction. Being in Primal, I am given the ability to do just that, restoring agency to people over their lives allowing them to reap the fruits of life and its experiences.
Above everything else, I value connections and experiences. There are so many things that this world has to offer, but very little time to enjoy these experiences. Being exposed to a lot of sports, injuries are no stranger to me. I would recall the times where I was missing out on a lot of opportunities and experiences to enjoy life as these injuries were an obstacle to my passion. At Primal, through patient-centred and collaborative care, I dedicate myself to ensure that your experience will be great, whether it be in the clinic or in your daily lives, to make your experiences in life a little bit better.
With my sessions, I try to establish a connection with my clients, creating an environment that is safe, supportive, and conducive to ideas and collaboration to create a treatment plan that is holistic and catered to your needs, while fostering a friendly and lively atmosphere to make working towards your goals a little bit more fun. (Pro tip: Physio doesn’t have to be boring)
Clinically, I have had the opportunity to take part in multiple settings within physiotherapy, this includes working in the community through home visits, residential age cares, and in hospital in which I’ve worked with post-operative patients through acute care. This gave me a firsthand perspective of people in different stages of their injuries and how it affected different facets of their lives. So if you’re looking to returning to sport, going back to your usual hobbies, getting through that 8-hour desk job, or just simply spending time, fun and creating more memories with your family and friends, feel free to book a session with me. Hoping to see you soon at Primal!
