Matisse Ziccarello – Primal Physiotherapist
Introducing Matisse:
Hey there! I’m Matisse, one of the physiotherapists at Primal Physiotherapy in Melbourne. I completed my Bachelor of Applied Movement Sciences and Master of Physiotherapy at Victoria University, where I developed a strong foundation in human movement, musculoskeletal assessment, injury rehabilitation, and patient-centred care. My passion for physiotherapy stems from both my academic background and personal experience with fitness and sports, particularly weightlifting, which plays a big part in my life outside of work.
Having experienced my fair share of injuries and niggles from training, I understand how much physical limitations can affect daily life, sports performance, and overall wellbeing. This experience has reinforced my commitment to helping patients restore mobility, rebuild strength, and safely return to the activities they love. At Primal, I focus on holistic and personalised physiotherapy programs that combine hands-on therapy, exercise-based rehabilitation, and sports physiotherapy techniques tailored to each individual’s goals.
I am particularly passionate about gym-based rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, functional movement, and injury prevention. Working with patients recovering from musculoskeletal injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, and chronic pain conditions allows me to apply both clinical expertise and real-world training experience to support optimal recovery. I aim to empower each patient through education, guided exercise, and evidence-based treatments so they can regain confidence, independence, and long-term physical resilience.
Beyond physiotherapy, I love exploring new adventures — hiking, swimming in the ocean, chasing waterfalls, and spending time outdoors. I bring the same energy and curiosity to my clinical work, always striving to learn new techniques and refine my skills to deliver the best possible care. I believe in building genuine relationships with my patients, understanding their priorities, and tailoring treatment plans to fit their lifestyle, whether that’s returning to gym training, improving sports performance, or simply moving comfortably in daily life.
Empathy, honesty, and kindness guide my approach, ensuring that each patient feels supported and motivated throughout their recovery journey. Seeing patients overcome injuries, regain strength, and achieve goals they once thought were out of reach is what drives my passion for physiotherapy. I take pride in combining my knowledge of human movement with my love for health, fitness, and strength training to provide comprehensive care that improves both function and quality of life.
Whether you are recovering from an injury, returning to sport, building strength, or aiming to improve general fitness, I am dedicated to helping you achieve your goals with personalised, evidence-based physiotherapy in Melbourne.
