Jack Gagula – Primal Physiotherapist
Introducing Jack.
Hello! I’m Jack Gagula, a physiotherapist at Primal Physiotherapy in Melbourne. I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Sports and Exercise Science (Clinical Practice), followed by a Master of Physiotherapy. My strong background in fitness, rehabilitation, and sport has shaped my passion for physiotherapy and my patient-centred approach to care.
Growing up in the sporting community and experiencing multiple injuries firsthand gave me a deep understanding of how physical limitations impact daily life, performance, and overall wellbeing. These experiences inspired me to become a physiotherapist and have driven my commitment to helping clients return safely to the activities they love. I specialise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, sports physiotherapy, gym-based rehabilitation, post-surgical rehab, and injury prevention programs.
Throughout my career, I’ve gained experience supporting patients across a wide range of settings, including placements at Primal Physiotherapy, MD Health, Barwon Health Community, the McKellar Centre Rehabilitation Ward, and the Barwon Health Cardiorespiratory Ward. This has allowed me to work with clients recovering from post-surgical injuries, chronic pain conditions, cardiorespiratory issues, and neurological conditions, giving me a broad and adaptable clinical skillset.
In addition, my experience as a personal trainer at an NDIS provider gym has given me insight into the practical application of exercise-based rehabilitation, strength training, and functional movement. I combine this knowledge with evidence-based physiotherapy to help clients rebuild strength, restore mobility, and regain confidence. I am particularly passionate about treating acute low back and neck pain, knee injuries, sports-related injuries, and guiding clients safely back to training, sport, or daily activities.
I take pride in treating the individual, not just the condition, tailoring each program to a client’s unique goals, priorities, and lifestyle. Seeing patients achieve their objectives — whether returning to sport, improving daily function, or enhancing overall fitness — is what motivates me every day. I focus on empowering clients through education, practical strategies, and personalised rehabilitation programs, creating a safe and supportive environment throughout recovery.
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through basketball, football, gym sessions, and travel. My love for movement and sport drives both my personal and professional life, giving me a unique perspective on performance, recovery, and functional strength.
Whether you are recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or looking to optimise performance, I am dedicated to helping you achieve your goals with holistic, personalised physiotherapy in Melbourne.
