Haydn Parker – Primal Physiotherapist

Introducing Haydn:

Hey! I’m Haydn, and I’m a Physiotherapist here at Primal Physiotherapy. I completed my Doctor of Physiotherapy at Monash University following an undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sports Science, majoring in exercise physiology and strength and conditioning. Throughout my childhood I was highly active, participating in swimming, gymnastics, AFL Football, Soccer and even classical ballet. It was through this my appreciation and interest in human movement and recovery developed and I knew I wanted to keep involved through my future profession. Outside of work, I still enjoy staying active. Whilst my team competitive sport days are over I still enjoy snowboarding, surfing, weight training and whatever else I can throw myself into.

My goal as a physiotherapist is to empower people to reclaim their ability to fully engage in the activities they love—no matter the scale. With experience as a Strength and Conditioning Coach and firsthand knowledge of injury recovery, I understand the dedication and process it takes to get back to your best, and I love being able to support others on that journey.

I’ve had experience working in a range of varied populations, from paediatrics, athletes to the older adults (or how I like to see it the seasoned pro’s at life!). I previously worked in a specialised centre dedicated to children with developmental delays due to disabilities like Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome or GDD. Through this, I saw how celebrating the small wins and continuing to push progress can lead to incredible moments of achievement. Knowing you were a small part of helping a young girl or boy walk for the first time is a feeling that I want to chase for the rest of my career. It’s these moments that motivate me to continue to show up every day.

Further to this, I have had experience working with athletic populations at St Kilda Football Club, and Blackburn Football Club. These experiences exposed me to range of acute and chronic injury presentations, principles of load management, and strategies to get you back to playing as soon as possible!

If you’re recovering from an injury or pain, post-surgery, or looking to maximise your performance I’m your guy! Our sessions at Primal Physiotherapy are a collaborative effort to create tailored rehabilitation plans based on your symptoms and functional limitations. Each sessions combines specific manual therapy techniques in conjunction with active evidence-based exercise-based prescription to aid recovery and enhance physical ability.
