Daphne Jaffre – Primal Osteopath
Introducing Daphne:
Hi there! I’m Daphne, one of the Osteopaths here at Primal Physiotherapy. I studied osteopathy at Victoria University in Melbourne, earning both my Bachelor of Science and Master of Health Science. You might notice a little French accent when we chat; I’m originally from France!
Outside of work, I’m passionate about adventure and love spending time at the climbing gym or exploring the breathtaking beauty of Australia’s outdoors, like Mount Arapiles. Growing up on a farm surrounded by animals taught me kindness and patience, which I carry into my practice. I’m currently finishing my degree to become a qualified animal osteopath, focusing on horses and dogs.
In my free time, I love being outdoors, camping, hiking, or exploring with my furry sidekick Evie! I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, painting, gaming, and reading a good book. I find joy in the small things like tending to my garden and sharing my fresh veggies with loved ones. I believe in filling life with joy, creativity, and laughter, and I bring that same energy into my sessions.
At my core, I value positivity, kindness, honesty, and respect. I strive to bring those values into everything I do, and I believe the best care comes from building genuine connections. I’m always looking for ways to learn and grow because I want to be the best practitioner I can be for you.
I became an osteopath because of my journey with pain. When I was 16, I had a bad fall from a horse, and the injury left me struggling for a while. But with the help of an osteopath, I found a new sense of hope and strength, taking back control of my body. I know what it’s like to feel held back by pain, and that’s why I’m passionate about helping others get back to doing what they love.
I truly love what I do and am passionate about helping people feel better and gain a deeper understanding of their bodies. My goal is to listen, guide, and empower you throughout your healing journey. I focus on creating a comfortable environment, ensuring our time together reflects your unique story. It’s important to me that you feel understood and at ease when you walk through my door. By prioritizing what matters most to you, I tailor my care to align with your individual goals. One of my most cherished moments in my professional journey was working at Sacred Heart Mission, where I had the privilege of supporting individuals through difficult times and celebrating their progress.
When we work together, my focus is on you. I want to understand what you’re experiencing and what you hope to achieve. I use a blend of hands-on techniques, including soft tissue massage, articulation, myofascial release, and muscle energy techniques, as well as indirect approaches such as craniosacral and biodynamic techniques. I also incorporate exercise rehabilitation to help you get moving and feel better. One area I focus on is down-regulating the nervous system, as this helps the body achieve balance and ease tension. Ultimately, I choose the methods that I find most appropriate for you. My goal is to help you move more easily, feel less pain, and enjoy life to the fullest.
I can’t wait to get to know you!
