Maddy Keryk Primal Physiotherapist
I’m Maddy Keryk, a physiotherapist here at Primal Physiotherapy. I completed both my Bachelor of Science and my Doctorate of Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne, after 6 years of
study. When I’m not in the clinic, you will find me in Geelong with a footy in hand, as I am also an AFLW player with the Geelong Football Club. These two endeavors take up the majority of
my time, but if I have a spare weekend I love to go hiking, camping or go and watch some live music.
I love being a physiotherapist because you are able to help so many different people in so many different ways. I love the diversity of people that walk through the door and the range of conditions that I get to help people overcome. Every day is different and a new opportunity to help someone improve themselves.
The most rewarding aspect of physiotherapy, which gives a great sense of accomplishment, is seeing clients achieve their goals, no matter how big or small the goal may be. Guiding someone through their rehab journey to their end goal is what drives me to work as hard as I can, in order to help my clients the best that I can.
I believe in doing things to the absolute best of my ability, which has driven my career in physiotherapy and as an AFLW athlete. I always strive to work as hard as I can for my clients so that we can achieve the best outcome together. I see that everybody is unique, and so it is vital to collaborate and be creative to create the best treatment plan for every person.
Before becoming a physiotherapist, I worked in exercise science, writing exercise programs and helping people manage their injuries through strength training. This combined with my background as an AFLW athlete means I have an expansive knowledge of exercise and how to tailor it to your needs, whether you’re trying to get through a day at your desk pain free or are competing at the highest level. While studying physiotherapy I worked with a range of people,
from babies and children through to older adults and everyone in between, and love the diversity that different people presented. Since graduating I have continued to complete personal development such as dry needling courses so that I can continue to improve myself and help you in the best way possible.
I can use these skills to help you recover from injury, prevent injuries reoccurring and help you improve yourself to take you to a higher level than you were before. I have already helped many
people to achieve their goals, return to sport and become pain free, through careful treatment planning that is specific to each individual. We can work together to create a plan that works for
you, to get you to where you want to be.
