Hi I’m Will Arnel!
Whether it’s a ball, bat, racquet or finish line, chances are I play it!
Growing up in the country, in the small town of Numurkah (about a 3-hour drive to Melbourne CBD), sports was a massive part of the community, whereby I discovered my passion for football, cricket and golf. We are a small town with about 5000 people so it gets quite fun playing with friends frequently.
Growing up with Sports
During my younger years, I was a serious sportsman, playing premier cricket for the Geelong Cricket Club and footy for St. Joseph’s Football Club, all the while completing my Bachelor of Exercise & Sport Science at Deakin University
After realising I was not as good as I thought I was at both cricket and footy (and golf), I quickly shifted toward my focus toward rehab as well as strength and conditioning. This led me on to complete my Doctor of Physiotherapy at The University of Melbourne!
I’ve always looked to improve and understand my skills as a Physiotherapist to help others
Over the years I have worked at Geelong Football Club within the Sports Science department managing a research project, while taking on roles at UHS-VU Football Club as the Head of High Performance within the VAFA competition. These days you might see me on the sidelines for the University Blues Football Club as their physiotherapist or working with the Geelong Cricket Club as their Head of Medical.
In the spare time that I do have, I’ll be found training for my upcoming marathon, riding down Beach Road, in the gym or catching a glimpse of any live sport with a beer or coffee in hand!
