Charbel Hasna – Primal Physiotherapist

Introducing Charbel:

Hey there! My name is Charbel, and I’m a Physiotherapist here at Primal! I graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, but before that, growing up my life pretty much revolved around sports. If it involved running, kicking, hitting, or throwing, I was probably doing it. Bouldering, soccer, tennis, badminton, table tennis, Taekwondo… you name it! Till this day, I jump at every chance to trial new sports. But my true love? Basketball.
I played competitively for a while before reality hit me and I had to figure out what I wanted to do with my life (spoiler alert: it was becoming an NBA player, but that did not go to plan obviously). After moving to Australia to study physiotherapy, I got into gym training and strength work, which deepened my love for understanding how the human body works. Then, I discovered Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and let’s just say, getting chocked out to sleep was an interesting way to learn about injury recovery!
Over the years, I’ve gained a solid understanding of strength and conditioning, injury rehab, and recovery strategies, not just from my studies but from personal experience. Now, I love using that knowledge to help others get back to doing what they love, whether it’s sports, training, or just moving pain-free.
Outside of the physio world, I’m a social guy who loves spending time with family and friends. So, if you ever need someone to chat with, whether it’s about injuries, sports, or which basketball team is going to take the championship this year, I’m your guy!
I had trained for 15 years, since I was four years old (adorable, I know). I played competitively until I was 17, but along the way, I collected more injuries than trophies. Rehab became my second home, and let’s just say, I got very familiar with the physio table. Having to step away from what I loved was heartbreaking even if it was for a short period of time, however knowing that I was traveling through my journey with people that cared about me made the process so much easier. I could have chosen another career, but I knew I wanted to help people get back to doing what they love, because I know firsthand how frustrating it is to be sidelined by injuries. Now, I get to turn my experience into action and help others keep moving, training, and thriving!
My biggest accomplishment? Aside from surviving leg day without regretting it the next morning, I’d say it’s helping my patients get back to doing what they love and actually enjoying physio! Throughout my clinical placements at different hospitals across the state, I was able to passionately help people recover and kickstart their rehab journey. I love knowing that I’ve helped someone push past their barriers and improve their quality of life. Seeing my clients feeling better, stronger, and more confident in their recovery is what makes this job so rewarding!
Primal Physiotherapy’s strong commitment to community and excellence in patient care truly resonates with me. My goal is to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives by providing high-quality, safe, and patient-focused care.
I’m here to guide you through your rehab journey by conducting a thorough assessment and creating a treatment plan that’s tailored to your unique needs. With a patient-first approach, I take the time to listen, understand, and respect each individual’s goals, building strong relationships along the way. Together, we’ll develop a treatment approach that targets your specific challenges, helping you break through barriers and achieve your best possible outcome!
If any of this resonates with you, then I hope to see you at Primal Physiotherapy soon!”
