Bailey Ryan – Primal Physiotherapy
Introducing Bailey Ryan:
Bailey Ryan – Physiotherapist
Hi! My name is Bailey Ryan and I am one of the Physiotherapists at Primal!
I have completed a Bachelor of Science at The University of Melbourne majoring in Physiology, followed by completing the Master of Physiotherapy Practice at La Trobe University.
Growing up and even currently, sport and more specifically AFL football has played a significant role in my life. I currently play local football in the EDFL and was fortunate enough to have experience playing at a high level including VFL and the Coates Talent League. Go the Cats!
I have also played competitively in many sports including basketball, cricket, hockey and golf. Try and challenge me with a sport I haven’t tried!
Strength and conditioning as well as running also play major roles in my life. I enjoy going to the gym and when it’s post season for football, I’m usually training long distance in running where I participated in the Nike Melbourne Half-Marathon in 2024 and will be looking to run a full Marathon in 2025.
Outside of Physiotherapy and sport, I’m inquisitive so I love learning new skills or facts, travelling (don’t be afraid to tell me about your holiday that you’ve booked) and spending time with friends, family and golden retriever.
My journey into physiotherapy stems from my deep interest in the human body and how capable and adaptable the human body truly is. With my sporting and educational background shared with a passion to help people, physiotherapy as an occupation become very clear to me and which I am now truly thankful for. I love the problem-solving aspect of being a Physiotherapist and pride myself on getting the best outcomes for the patient.
I also recognise the importance of treating the individual not just the issue at hand. I understand people come from different backgrounds, lifestyles and goals. My sessions are therefore based on investing on the individual’s journey and together working cooperatively, place the client in the best position to achieve the best outcome.
I thoroughly enjoy treating all conditions and injuries; however, I have a keen interest regarding spinal conditions like acute wry neck or low back pain, sporting injuries, gait retraining as well as paediatric conditions or injuries as I have experience as a Paediatric Physiotherapist.
For instance, I’ve had the opportunity to work with many individuals experiencing lower back pain. One case that stands out most to me is being involved in guiding a client through a structured rehab program where we initially focused on reducing pain, then increasing movement and finally becoming stronger. Over time, they were able to return to their normal routine pain-free and with a better understanding of how to manage their back health independently. For me, the most rewarding part was seeing the shift in their confidence and how empowered they felt by the end of their recovery.
If you’re looking for a physio who combines evidence-based care with a genuine passion for helping people, I’d love to work with you. With a strong background in both elite-level sport and clinical rehab, I understand what it takes to recover, perform, and stay injury-free. I take the time to listen, personalise each treatment, and focus on getting you not just pain-free, but confident in your body again. Whether it’s back pain, sporting injuries, or simply moving better day-to-day, I’m here to support your journey, not just during your sessions, but between them and after. Let’s work together to get you back doing what you love.
